Waterproof rug pads should be used with the foam looking surface down against the floor. When placing your rug pad on the floor, make sure the "Spillguard" or "Stainmaster" barrier is up against the back of your rug. This will assure that the barrier prevents any spills reaching the floor.
Installing Your Rug Pad
The foam looking surface goes down against the floor. When placing your rug pad on the floor, the "Spillguard" or "Stainmaster" barrier should be up against the back of your rug.
Caring For Your Rug Pad
Rug pads require little care. If you spill anything on it, simply blot it out and let air dry. If you need to spot clean it, use a damp sponge with mild liquid detergent and scrub the affected area. Let air dry. Once in a while, you may want to to either sweep or vacuum it.
Rotating Your Rug Pad
A rug pad can wear just like a rug. To prevent any uneven wear, try to rotate your rug pad at least once a year (you can rotate your area rug at the same time). Have one person pick up each end of the rug pad and rotate 180 degrees. Place back on the floor and place rug back on the rug pad.
